The fat transfer to the butt and hips, better known as the Brazilian Buttlift (BBL), has skyrocketed in popularity in recent years, largely due to its natural-looking results and the influence of social media. Adding fat to the butt and hip dips is not only an art to achieve a natural but noticeably beaufiful result. but a science to assure it is done in the safest manner. A Brazilian buttock lift augments and shapes the buttocks to achieve more projection and roundness. Using the patient’s own fat harvested via liposuction, Dr. B injects it into the fatty tissue layer of the buttocks and hip dips. A BBL can also address other cosmetic concerns such as asymmetry, cellulite, and an unbalanced physique.
The surgery does rely on a patient carrying enough fat to transfer which would make a significant difference in the shape and size of the buttocks. If a patient is too thin for a Brazilian butt lift surgery, a non-surgical BBL using semi-permanent fillers like Sculptra® or Radiesse® may help provide the desired effect.
Liposuction 360 refers to surgical liposuction performed 360 degrees around the body. Using a thin cannula, Dr. B harvests fat from targeted areas. In the case of a BBL with lipo 360, the body fat is purified and injected into the buttocks. However, liposuction 360 can also be performed as a solo surgery.
A liposuction 360 procedure can treat many different areas, but usually treats the front of the upper and lower abdomen , upper and lower back, and sides of the body. Common treatment areas include the waist, abdomen, back, and sometimes people will add the arms and thighs. It is one of the most popular procedures to make the body look snatched.

Significant complications or issues due to a BBL or lipo 360 are rare. Certain medical conditions or circumstances can increase certain risks.
Once the patient goes under general anesthesia, Dr. B will begin with liposuction. This can take a few hours as he switches areas and the number of areas. When he finishes with lipo, all of the collected fat is separated from the blood, a process known as purification. Using a liposuction cannula and the ultrasound imaging of the Rump Radar™, Dr. Blyer precisely and carefully injects the fat into the necessary areas of the buttocks.
Fat transfer to the buttocks is safest when the fat is injected into the fatty layer of tissue just below the skin. This fatty tissue inhabits the space between the skin and muscle. Injecting into the muscle comes with increased risks, but when injected in the right place, a BBL is exceptionally safe. The fat injected into the buttocks belongs to the patient. The body does not differentiate between fat in different areas. Therefore, it should not reject the fat itself. Not all of the fat will indeed survive the transfer, but this is expected and not a rejection of the fat. As long as the fat is injected into the correct plane, there is unlikely to be an issue. One can expect about 70% fat survival. This number is likely a little higher in men.
Cosmetic surgeons generally do not consider results final until nine to twelve months after surgery. With that said, patients often see noticeable results after about three to four months. A reduction in swelling and skin retraction will continue to occur for several months. Wearing a compression garment can help improve results and minimize swelling. The butt will appear slightly smaller usually at 4 weeks. It is this point where fat is dying that stimulates the stem fat cells within the fat to regrow. At 6-8 weeks we see a small increase in size often referred to as the "fluff period". Final butt volume results are usually at 3 months. That being said, fat behaves like fat. So if you gain weight your butt will grow in size, and losing weight will result in a smaller butt.
Yes, patients can undergo a Brazilian butt lift and liposuction 360 procedure at the same time. Not all patients will qualify for more extensive procedures, though most patients who can undergo a BBL, usually have no problems adding in additional areas of liposuction to complete lipo 360.
After a Brazilian butt lift with liposuction 360, patients can expect some mild side effects. Dr. B will provide instructions to help keep patients comfortable during recovery.

The exact cost of a BBL with lipo 360 is difficult to quantify because liposuction 360 can have a varying number of liposuction areas. This will influence the cost as well as any other procedures a patient may show interest in such as tummy tuck or breast augmentation. After a personal consultation with Dr. Blyer, patients will receive a total cost for all of their procedures.
Consultations with Dr. B at Cameo Surgery Center are $100. This does go towards surgery if the patient books. If the patient no-shows, Dr. B donates the money to either the ASPCA or St. Jude’s. It’s not about the money, but ensuring that his patients’ time and Dr. B’s time are respected.
